After arriving in Sydney from
Egypt, the Lord led Pastor Arto Kuijian to start an
Armenian Brethren Assembly in 1968. The first
meetings were held in his house, and God blessed
these gatherings so greatly that within one year
Pastor Arto began to rent a small hall in
Northbridge, with the help of the brothers and the
leading of the Lord. The church continues to meet in
the same place to this day. Pastor Arto served our
assembly and also was the founding editor of the
Trumpet Sound newsletter. His ministry in our church
lasted 37 years until his illness, following which
he was called home to be with the Lord in 2005.
Pastor Harry Hratsh Kiujian was
assisting his father in the ministry since his
teenage years, during which the lord blessed the
assembly and others to join the eldership. We praise
the lord for his continuing blessing and guidance.
In 2006, the church merged with
the Armenian Evangelical Nazarene Church, Chatswood.
This unification was a blessing and the church saw a
sudden expansion that would mean a more effective
use of resources and greater involvement in various
ministries by its members.
