This Church
consists of believers who have been saved by faith in
our Lord Jesus Christ though His blood, provided by
God’s grace. Such believers are recognised as church
members, who hold to what are commonly known as the
‘Evangelical Doctrines’, namely:
The Bible
1) The Divine Inspiration and Authority of all the
Holy Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments.
God the
Father
2) There is only one God, the creator of the
universe, Heaven and Earth.
The Trinity
3) The unity and co-equality of the Godhead –
Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Jesus Christ
i) The Virgin birth of Jesus, conceived by the
Holy Spirit, who is the Eternal Son of God, who became
truly man yet sinless, while yet truly God.
ii) His death as a voluntary and sufficient
sacrifice for the sin of all humanity.
iii) His triumphant bodily resurrection from among
the dead after three days.
iv) His ascension (lifted up to Heaven in His risen
glorified body) to the Father's right hand in Heaven’s
glory.
v) His glorious physical return to gather His saints
and establish his kingdom on Earth.
Evil
4) The personality, power and final doom of Satan
the Devil.
Sinful Man
5) Humans, created by God and in his image and
likeness.
6) The fallen, sinful and lost state of all
humanity, guilty before God and subject to God's
righteous wrath and condemnation.
Salvation
7) The salvation of people from God’s wrath and from
the power of sin, through the perfect obedience of the
Lord Jesus Christ, His atoning death, His resurrection
from the dead, His ascension to the right hand of the
Father and His unchanging Priesthood.
8) The eternal salvation of the believer.
Holy Spirit
9) The immediate work of the Holy Spirit in the
regeneration (the new birth) of people, in their
sanctification, and in their preservation to the
Heavenly Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Judgment
10) The bodily resurrection of believers, the final
judgment of all people by the Lord Jesus Christ, and
rewards and punishment in a future state.
Baptism
11) The baptism of believers by immersion in water.
Lord’s Supper
12) The observance of the Lord's Supper
The Church
13) There is one universal Church: the Body of Christ.
The Lord Jesus Christ is Head of all believers, who are
members of this body and who are baptised by the Holy
Spirit at the moment of conversion.
14) This universal Church has a threefold purpose: the
praise and worship of God; the building up of each other
in love; and witness to others.
